Photos from Lynn's Book Launch Party for "Seeking the Light of God's Comforter"!!!

On February 12, 2017, my CPA, Bill Brady, gave me a Book Launch Party at Seattle's College Club on Lake Union. It was a sunny day with a view from the deck of the Seattle skyline.

My cousin, Tom Heins, a professional photographer, graciously offered to take photos of the event.

Having combed through 132 photos, here are the ones that best represent the day - a milestone day in my life, for sure.

To all who prayed me to this event, many thank yous. To those who helped set up the room and keep the event moving along, abundant thanks, as well. Enjoy this virtual tour of the day.

To enlarge the photos, just click on them once as I can only size them to fit in this smaller space!

Entryway as guests entered the venue room, framed photos that are featured in the devotional book.

First Steps: signing guest book, getting a name tag, signing a raffle ticket, rejoicing and being glad in the day!

Book sales table

Centerpieces on table to mirror the colors in the book's cover photo: a sunrise on the Sea of Galilee.

Venue photo boards shared the journey of my getting some of the photos for the book: this is the Skagit Valley in Washington state.

This venue board is a tribute to Tim Hansel, to whom my book is dedicated.

Ah - great memories from 2001 and 2002 when I was able to be in Oxford and Cambridge. A number of photos in the devotional book are from those travels, including a study week in C.S. Lewis' home.

With my  cousins: Teri and her brother, Tom Heins who also was the photographer for the Book Launch!!

. . .with Graham

With our host, Bill Brady, long time friend and my CPA who certainly gave the gift of a wonderful day!

Various special groupings of friends!

Graham brought the special prayer focus for the day. With holy oil from Israel, he anointed the palm of my right hand (my writing hand) by forming the sign of the Cross on it.

Next, he asked I place the anointed hand on my book as he prayed the book out to those who would find comfort and encouragement from the Holy Spirit when reading it.

All gathered were asked to extend their hands to join in the prayer.

Time at the podium to thank those in attendance, introduce Bill Brady, and share in the joys of the day.

The oil painting on the mantle is one done by my mother, Maggie. It is used to begin the book's  Introduction Section THREE of devotionals.

Signing books for friends . . what fun!!

A joyous hug from my step-sis, Nina, who came from southern CA to attend the celebration!

. . .with Sonia Evans - a joy in my life since she was in my first grade class 41 years ago!

    1. Photos can be treasures for they remind us of important people and events. I "missed" seeing a lot in detail at the book launch event as I was so busy with what I had to be doing - all important and wonderful. I feel, in looking at the photos, that I actually have experienced more myself from the day.

Glad to share, Fiona especially with you who are so far away in Australia - not too practical for you to attend in person!!

      Love,
      Lynn

    1. I love having the photos, too, Kerryn. I "missed" a lot when there as so much was going on. The friends who set up the decor worked fast and hard and I never really got around to see it all. So the photos give me an overall look that was not possible for me when there, although I loved every minute of what was going on "from my view".

      Love, Lynn
