Reasons for Rejoicing - Easter, 2013

Reasons for Rejoicing
Easter - 2013

What better day could there be for “Letting All Creation Sing!”?

As many in our world celebrate Easter Sunday this year,
I am posting two of my favorite Easter songs.
Each song was written by a favorite musical artist of mine:

David Meece  with
We Are the Reason

 and

The Second Chapter of Acts with
Easter Song.

Read the lyrics and mediate on their meanings.
Listen to the songs and sing along.
That is what I am doing today.
Much joy and love to each of you
who have stopped by to spend
a bit of your Easter day with me!

We are the Reason
Words & Music by David Meece
Copyright 1980 Meece Music

As little children we would dream of Christmas morn
And all the gifts and toys we knew we'd find
But we never realized a baby born one blessed night
Gave us the greatest gift of our lives
And we were the reason that He gave His life
We were the reason that He suffered and died
To a world that was lost He gave all He could give
To show us the reason to live
As the years went by we learned more about gifts
And giving of ourselves and what that means
On a dark and cloudy day a man hung crying
in the rain
Because of love, because of love
And we are the reason that He gave His life
We are the reason that He suffered and died
To a world that was lost He gave all He could give
To show us the reason to live
I finally found the reason for living
It's in giving every part of my heart to Him
In all that I do every word that I say
I'll be giving my all just for Him
For Him
And we are the reason that He gave His life
We are the reason that He suffered and died
To a world that was lost He gave all He could give
To show us the reason to live
He is my reason to live

Easter Song
Words and Music by Annie Herring

Hear the bells ringing
They're singing that we can be born again
Hear the bells ringing
They're singing Christ is risen from the dead

The angel up on the tombstone
Said, "He has risen, just as He said
Quickly now, go tell His disciples
That Jesus Christ is no longer dead"

Joy to the world
He has risen, Hallelujah
He's risen, Hallelujah
He's risen, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Hear the bells ringing
They're singing that we can be born again
Hear the bells ringing
They're singing Christ is risen from the dead

The angel up on the tombstone
Said, "He has risen, just as He said
Quickly now, go tell His disciples
That Jesus Christ is no longer dead"

Joy to the world
He has risen, Hallelujah
He's risen, Hallelujah
He's risen, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

    1. Belle - I am glad you appreciated the music esp. for Easter rejoicing.

David Meece is the artist who wrote, "We Are the Reason".
Annie Herring wrote "The Easter Song" and along with her brother, Matthew Ward and their sister, Nellie recorded it as they comprised the group, "The 2nd Chapter of Acts".

Others have recorded this music over the years but it all began with them . As their versions are the first ones I heard, I am somewhat partial to them!

Peace and Hope to you, my friend!

  5. Hi Lynn,
Thought I'd visit your blog. Maybe this way you can access my email account (so we can correspond that way, if needed, as we encourage each other's writing project).
I love your picture that accompanies this post. Didn't know we shared a passion for photography.

    1. Hi Vicki - I am so happy to have you visit my blog.
I have no way of knowing who is signed up via email nor getting email addresses.
Hmm - where else do you hang out? I am signed up for your blog if you have access to email address from it, then you'd have mine.

Are you in the RM Sunroom? I can check and if you are, I can send my email address via an inbox message there.

It is nice to know we share a passion for photography, too! All the photos on my blog are ones I have taken ( well, the one on this post was taken by a family member ). There is one photo buried in an August posting that is not mine but other than that - !!!

Okay, the hunt is on to find each other. IF you have a gmail account, it will come through as I had to create one to be on this blogger site.

      Love, Lynn

  6. Hi Lynn,
I checked my blog and possibly found your email address. We'll see...
I'm not yet on RM Sunroom. I could do that, but not today. I'm still dealing with pain in my mouth from recent dental work. I had preliminary bridge work done. Ouch!!! I have another dentist apt. tomorrow. Yuk. Don't know why they haven't invented a drill with a muffler! That sound brings back bad memories of childhood torture at the dentist.
I know God will be gracious to provide His peace tomorrow.

Blessings as you complete the dental work. It is always good to have it over and done!
