Book Excerpt #20 "Having the Faith of Abraham"

16. Having the Faith of Abraham

As a spiritual descendent of Abraham, I look heavenward to the stars. What can I learn? God called Abraham his friend. He blessed him while acknowledging him as righteous, not because he always did things right or even understood God’s ways.

Perhaps I am looking for strength in my fractures rather than looking to the One who wants my attention.

God asks me, “Are you willing to surrender your ways to believe my ways are best? Can you trust me without comprehending my reasons?”

I ponder my response. My yes will require my flexibility, allowing God’s best to rise to the top filling up my fracture lines with himself. That is a reality I desire.

God has the stars in his universe and the plans for my life under complete control. Abraham learned, after that star-filled night, that God’s promises for him came to pass. God’s plans for me unfold as my heart-pieces rest into his peace and as new life involvements replace former times. I smile at the stars and believe for the more that is yet to come.

  1. Sooooo beautiful! I love the word "blessing" so this really speaks to me. This sentence especially spoke deep into my soul: "My yes will require my flexibility, allowing God’s best to rise to the top filling up my fracture lines with himself." Special! Thanks for allowing the Holy Spirit to speak through you into my life. God bless. LOTSoluv Kerryn

    1. Thank you, Kerryn - currently this is one of the devotionals that is calling to needs in my own life (long after the devotional was written!! ).

Trusting God when his promises have yet to be revealed fully but have been put in place!

      Love
